Greenbrier East 66, Nicholas County 42
Fairlea – Greenbrier East dominated from the opening top, holding Nicholas County to just two points in the opening frame of a 66-42 victory in a Class AAA Region 3 co-final.
The win sends the Lady Spartans to next week’s Class AAA state tournament where they’ll face No. 8 Hampshire on Wednesday at 5:30 in the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center.
In her final home game Kennedy Stewart led East with 19 points while fellow senior Mackenna McClure netted 12. Ava Workman added 13 for the Spartans in the win.
Brooklyn Nunley led Nicholas County with 11 points in the loss.
