Hurricane – Beckley’s defense picked up where it left off last season, holding host Hurricane to a single goal in a 2-1 victory Wednesday over the Redskins in a rematch of last season’s title game.
Coby Dillon and Jonathan Scott scored a goal each for the Flying Eagles, both in the first half.
Jack Willis scored Hurricane’s lone goal of the evening.
Scott opened the scoring in the ninth minute, placing a shot in the top right of the goal while Dillon followed up with the deciding shot in the 17th minute.
The Flying Eagles will return to action Saturday when they host Morgantown at 1 p.m.
