Hi,
I want to welcome you to Playsheet Sports, my newest project in the media world. For those who are unaware, my name is Tyler Jackson and I’m the owner and operator of Play Sheet Sports. Since Aug. 2017, I’ve served Southern West Virginia as a sport writer, covering 22 schools across eight different counties.
In May of 2021 I accepted the role of sports editor at Lootpress, building the sports department from the ground up while providing coverage of area athletics in a new medium. Unfortunately, on Thursday, Feb. 6 the company made the decision to cut the sports department entirely. The decision came down to a major loss of revenue.
In the following days numerous readers and coaches alike reached out, concerned about the coverage vacuum left in the wake of the decision to cut sports. After heading out of town for a trip I had already planned and paid for, I weighed my options and came to the conclusion that local sports coverage still matters and area readers want it.
So, what is Play Sheet Sports? A website designed to fill the void left behind, giving you, the reader, the same great coverage provided over the last four years. My plan is to keep all of the content free to the public as has been the case over the last four years. In order to make that model work in the long run I will require the assistance of willing advertisers that are hungry to expand their customer base and support the coverage of local athletics. If you’re interested in building with me, please reach out to [email protected] where we can discuss affordable advertising pricing for all budgets.
During my early eight years covering the area I’ve helped secure four Kennedy Award winners (football), one Evans Award winner (boys basketball) an Ostrowksi winner (girls basketball) and numerous first team all-state players and captains. I want to continue documenting and sharing the great exploits of our area athletes while advocating for them when necessary on a statewide stage.
My goal to provide the best coverage remain the same. In addition to utilizing the written medium I plan to continue my work with video podcasting, nightly highlights and eventually, the Player of the Week – one of the most successful concepts we created over the last four years. I hope you’ll join and support me on this journey.

We’ve built it together once, we can do it again.
Regards,
Tyler Jackson
