Greenbrier West 85, Greater Beckley 24
Charmco – A year after giving up 95 points in the regional, Greenbrier West’s defense locked in.
The Cavaliers surrendered just one field goal through the first three quarters, rolling to an 85-24 win over Greater Beckley in the Class A Region 3 co-final Wednesday in Charmco.
The Cavaliers earned the No. 6 seed and will open state tournament play next Thursday when they face No. 3 Tucker County in the first round of the state tournament at the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center.
Preslee Treadway led the Cavaliers, capping her final game in Charmco with a 35-point showing against the Crusaders Tuesday. Maddie Fields added 14 points in the win while Haylee Ward netted 10.
Leah Adkins was the only Crusader to break double figures for Greater Beckley, scoring 14.

Lindside – Class A or AA, it doesn’t matter. The Mavericks are heading to Charleston either way.
James Monroe edged Summers County 56-51 Wednesday in the Class AA Region 3 co-final, earning a spot in next week’s Class AA state tournament in the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center.
The Mavericks will be the No. 5 seed and will face No. 4 Wyoming East on Tuesday at 9 p.m.
Maggie Boroski led the charge for James Monroe with 22 points in the win while Mya Dunlap was solid for 18.
In her final high school game Avery Lilly netted 16 for Summers County while Abby Perusing scored 12.
