Shady Spring – Shady Spring and Nicholas County split a doubleheader Wednesday with Shady winning one game 6-0 and Nicholas the other 3-2, both in Shady.
Jenna Joyce homered again for Shady in its victory, driving in a trio of runs. Raegan Lane earned the win, going the distance and fanning 12 while allowing just one hit.
In Nicholas County’s win Abby Hilleary led the charge with a trio of hits while Zoe Nash added two. Hilleary picked up the win, collecting her 100th strikeout of the season.
Beckley 7, Oak Hill 4
Oak Hill – Beckley picked up a key regional win, unending rival Oak Hill 7-4 Wednesday in Oak Hill.
Aubrey Smallwood led the Flying Eagles with 14 strikeouts and a pair of hits, driving in a run. Shailee Sexton drove in a trio of runs to back the effort as well.
Kinzlee Dove led the Red Devils with three hits and two RBI in the loss.
Mount View 18, Summers County 9
Mount View 16, Summers County 8
Welch – Mount View took a pair of high-scoring wins, sweeping Summers County 18-9 and 16-8 Wednesday in Hinton.
The Golden Knights racked up 17 hits across the two contests with Kayleigh Rose homering and driving in four total runs.
Kaylee Cook went 4-for-6 while Shiann Carter and Shianne Belcher drove in three runs each.
