Myrtle Beach – Raegan Lane was stellar Wednesday, striking out 19 batters in Shady Spring’s 8-3 win over Ketchikan at Myrtle Beach.
Peyton Raban and Annabelle Sturgill back Lane’s stellar effort in the circle with two hits each while Sturgill drove in two runs.
Lane allowed just two hits in the win.
Johnson Central 3, Beckley 1
Myrtle Beach – Beckley showed a much improved effort Wednesday, dropping a 3-1 decision to Johnson Central in Myrtle Beach.
After errors plagued them their first two days at the beach, the Flying Eagles limited their fielding mistakes to just one, helping back a solid effort from Aubrey Smallwood.
Smallwood struck out 13 batters despite the loss, driving in the Flying Eagles’ lone run of the day.
Shailee Sexton and Emma Bickford led the Flying Eagles with two hits each.
Independence 7, Lewis County, K.Y. 2
Myrtle Beach – Independence jumped Lewis County, scoring four runs in the first inning of a 7-2 victory Wednesday in Myrtle Beach.
Bella Lilly drove in two runs while Emma Lilly, Kassidy Bradbury, Payton Brehm and Savannah Stanley added an RBI each.
Kenzie Pierce earned the win, going the distance and striking out three.
Oak Hill 14, South Charleston 6
Oak Hill – Oak Hill’s offense erupted for eight runs in the fourth inning, claiming a 14-6 win over South Charleston Wednesday in Oak Hill.
Meeka Miller led the charge again, blasting a three-run homer while Sadie Branch, Ava Pomeroy and KK Smith drove in two runs each.
Mary Butcher picked up the win in the circle, yielding just three earned runs.
Greenbrier West 6, Sherman 3
Seth – Greenbrier West’s offense woke up late, scoring four runs in the final tow innings to claim a 6-3 win over Sherman Wednesday night in Seth.
Brilee Redden led the charge with two RBI while striking out 10 in the circle, not allowing a single earned run.
Preslee Treadway notched a pair of hits, a double and a triple, to help the cause.
