Riverside 9, Beckley 3
Belle – Riverside struck early, scoring six runs in the third inning to secure a 9-3 win over Beckley in the sectional title game Friday, bringing the Flying Eagles’ season to an end.
Shailee Sexton and Aubrey Smallwood had a hit and drove in a run each for the Flying Eagles.
Lilly Collins added a hit and an RBI as well.
PikeView 12, Greenbrier East 2
Fairlea – PikeView’s offense exploded Friday as the Panthers eliminated Greenbrier East from the Class AAA Region 3 Section 1 tournament with a 12-2 win over the Spartans in Fairlea.
Shelby Maddox led the effort in the circle with eight strikeouts in five innings, allowing just three hits.
Emma Compton led the charge at the plate going 4-for-4 with two RBI. Maddox and Bella Delida had two hits each as well.
Ally Martin collected the only RBI for East while Heather Heaster, Reagan Cline and Jenna Groves had a hit each.
PikeView will play Shady in another elimination game on Saturday in Shady at 6 p.m.
