George Washington 6, Greenbrier East 5
Charleston – Greenbrier East’s rally ttemto came up short Tuesday s the Spartans fell 6-5 at George Washington.
Leading 2-1 heading into the bottom of the sixth the Spartans yielded five runs but nearly climbed out of the deficit with a three-run rally in the seventh inning.
Four different Lady Spartans collected two hits each in the loss.
Willowbrook 11, Beckley 1
Myrtle Beach, S.C. – The Flying Eagles cut down on errors Tuesday but still struggled, falling 11-1 to Willowbrook in Myrtle Beach.
The Flying Eagles managed to notch six hits, just two less than Willowbrook but five of the 11 runs they yielded were unearned.
Kaneland 10, Shady Spring 0
Myrtle Beach, S.C. – Shady’s offense struggled Tuesday in Myrtle Beach as the Tigers were shutout by Kaneland.
Shady managed four hits in the loss while committing five errors.
Of the 10 runs yielded, only five were earned.
Pikeview 16, Summers County 0; Pikeview 23, Summers County 0
Gardner – PikeView erupted on Summers County Tuesday, sweeping a doubleheader by scores of 16-0 and 23-0.
The Panthers did all of that damage despite notching nine total hits over six innings, capitalizing on 15 total Summers County errors.
They also drew 25 total walks on the day.
Shelby Maddox led the Panthers with four hits and three RBI, fanning 13 batters to reach 100 strikeouts on the year.
Oak Hill 6. Princeton 5
Princeton – Oak Hill did all of its damage in the second and third innings, claiming a 6-5 win at Princeton Tuesday.
Sadie Branch led Oak Hill with two hits and a pair of RBI while Kindle Dove notched a pair of hits.
Hayden Jones led Princeton with two hits, both doubles, while Zoey Agnew drove in a pair of runs.
Wyoming East 13, Mingo Central 1
Delbarton – Wyoming East hammered the ball Tuesday, collecting 14 hits in a 13-1 win at Mingo Central.
Carlee Rollins and Alivia Monroe led East with three hits each while Reagan Bower, Kiley Shrewsbury, Carli Raye and Rollins picked up two RBI each.
Raye secured the win in the circle with 11 strikeouts.
