
Mount View 13, Montcalm 10
Welch – Mount View won a slugfest, holding off Montcalm for a 13-10 win over the Generals Tuesday in Welch.
The win sends the Golden Knights to the sectional title game.
Pacing them at the plate was Shiann Carter who notched four hits while Taylor Tessner drove in four runs.
Dudgeon rounded out the effort with three hits.
Montcalm will face Greater Beckley on Wednesday in an elimination game while Mount View will await the winner on Thursday.
Liberty 22, Summers County 0
Glen Daniel – Liberty pounded 20 hits, bombarding its way to a 22-0 win over Summers County on Tuesday in Glen Daniel.
The win sends the Raiders to the Region 3, Section 2 winners bracket where they will face James Monroe on Wednesday in Glen Daniel.
Eight of Liberty’s starters had multiple hits with Stella Brown and Allie Bowles notching three each.
Brown, McKinlea Hill and Alyssa Scarbro all homered in the win while Kanyon Green drove in a team-best five runs.
Maddie Cox earned the win, allowing one hit and fanning 12.
Wyoming East 8, Westside 5
Bluefield – Wyoming East’s bats stayed hot Tuesday as the Lady Warriors secured an 8-5 win over Westside in the Class AA Region n3 Section 1 tournament.
The win sends Wyoming East to the sectional title game where it will face Mingo Central on Wednesday in Bluefield.
Carli Raye led the charge at the plate with three hits while Victoria Smith matched her with an RBI to boot. Seven of East’s nine starters drove in a run.
Raye pitched a complete-game, not allowing a single earned run and overcoming eight errors from her defense.
Kinley Morgan led the Renegades with a pair of hits and an RBI.
Beckley 10, Oak Hill 9
Beckley – Beckley rallied in the ninth inning, scoring three runs to claim a 10-9 walk-off win against Oak Hill Tuesday in Beckley.
Aubrey Smallwood, who led the charge with three hits and three RBI, scored the game-winning run on a passed ball. Smallwood picked up the win in the circle as well, fanning 11 in four innings of work while allowing three earned runs.
Karlie Fraley also drove in three runs on two hits.
Amy Hollandsworth led Oak Hill with two hits and two RBI in the loss.
PikeView 6, Princeton 2
Gardner – Pikeview secured a 6-2 win over Princeton Tuesday, advancing in the sectional tournament.
Shelby Maddox dazzled in the circle, holding Princeton to a single hit off the bat of Shy Richardson.
Bell Delida backed her effort with a pair of hits and two RBI while Maddox notched two hits and an RBI of her own.
PikeView will face top-seeded Independence on Wednesday. Princeton will await the loser on Thursday in an elimination game.
Greenbrier West 21, Webster County 0
Crawley – Brilee Redden had a day again Tuesday, hitting her ninth home run of the season and pitching a five-inning perfect game as the Lady Cavs secured a 21-0 win over Webster County in Crawley.
Greenbrier West advances tot he sectional title game where it will face the winner of Richwood-Webster County on Thursday.
Maddie Fields brought some pop as well, notching four hits and driving in four runs while Kyndal Taylor drove in a a trio of runs.
Diana Porter and Presley Treadway had multiple hits as well on a night where Treadway, Fields and Redden were honored for notching 100 career hits each.
