Midland Trail 13, Greater Beckley 1; Midland Trail 11, Cross Lanes Christian 2
Cross Lanes – Midland Trail picked up a pair of five-inning victories Saturday at Cross Lanes, beating Cross Lanes Christian 11-2 and Greater Beckley 13-1.
Against Greater Beckley Jessi Mooney and Presley Walker collected two hits each with Mooney driving in a trio of runs. Maddie Rader allowed one hit, fanning nine in three innings.
Mooney, Rader and Walker delivered a the plate against Cross Lanes with Mooney driving in four runs. Joining Mooney with two hits were Rader, Walker, Neveah Hall, Kyndal Parsons and Ava Campbell.
Rader picked up the win there, fanning five in two innings.
Oak Hill 19, Summers County 0; Oak Hill 14, Capital 1
Oak Hill – Oak Hill swept a doubleheader Saturday, taking down Summers County 19-0 and Capital 14-0 in Oak Hill.
Kennedy King and Peyten Farrell notched home runs against Summers in the victory with Farrell driving in two runs. Mary Butcher struck out eight in three innings, allowing one hit.
Sadie Branch kept the home run parade rolling against Capital, adding three RBI and a triple. K.K. Smith picked up the win, striking out eight in five innings.
Petersburg 10, Greenbrier West 7
Moorefield – Petersburg’s bats were lethal Saturday as the Vikings climbed out of a 7-0 hole to secure a 10-7 victory over Greenbrier West in Moorefield.
Preslee Treadway paced West with two hits and four RBI, hitting a double.
Maddie Fields added two hits as well with a double.
Addie Kitzmiller led Petersburg with two hits and three RBI while Ella Markwell homered.
Greenbrier East 17, Nitro 4
Nitro – Greenbrier East capitalized on 16 walks Saturday, securing a 17-4 win at Nitro.
The Spartans scored in every inning, pouring it on with six in the fifth.
Maddie Baker and Cambell Bundy drove in two runs each with Bundy hitting a triple for East. Emily Pyles picked up the win.
