Myrtle Beach – Aubrey Smallwood had a stellar outing Friday, fanning 19 batters and yielding just one hit in a 7-1 Beckley win over Ketchikan in Myrtle Beach.
Karlie Fraley led the Flying Eagles at the plate with four hits and two RBI while Shailee Sexton added a pair of hits as well.
Russel, Ky. 11, Independence 10
Myrtle Beach – Independence battled back Friday but came up short, falling 11-10 in a walk-off loss to Russel Ky. at Myrtle Beach.
Trailing 6-2 after two innings, the Patriots eventually caught up and tied the game in the top of the fourth and the top of the seventh but gilded the winning run in the bottom of the seventh.
Emma Lilly led the assault at the plate with three hits and two RBI while Acasia Cook, Ava Parks, Paytin Brehm and Zoey Bragg collect two hits each in the loss.
