Hinton – Summers County sophomore Cody Snavely was released from the Charleston Area Medical Center Saturday after being airlifted there from Hinton Friday night, his mother Bethany Blankenship wrote on her Facebook page Saturday night.
Snavely, who suffered a hit in the Bobcats’ season-opener against PikeView on Friday, was unable to move his lower extremities until the helicopter airlifting him arrived in Charleston.
He showed signs of progress throughout Friday evening and was able to walk around the hospital unit without assistance on Saturday, according to Blankenship. The family was discharged around 4 p.m. on Saturday and Snavely was able to walk up and down stairs once he arrived home.
The sophomore running back is still experiencing some pain in his hip and lower back and will meet again either a neurosurgeon in three weeks.
