Coal City – No. 1 Independence moved to 6-0 on the season Friday, toppling Westside 49-6 in Clear Fork.
Sylas Nelson turned 13 carries into 188 yards and five touchdowns while Brock Green completed 11 of 15 passes for 238 yards and a touchdown that found the hands of Christian Linksweiler.
Kaden Bradbury added an interception for the Patriots in the win.
