Fairlea – Greenbrier East couldn’t contain Alleghany Highlands in the middle quarters, dropping a 36-26 decision Friday night in Fairlea.
A.J. Godfrey led the Spartans with 143 yards and three touchdowns on 26 carries, rushing for 101 yards in the second half alone. Brody Hamric paced the Spartans with 206 yards through the air, connecting with Grant Burdette five times for 124 yards and a touchdown.
Des Jordan scored three rushing touchdowns to lead Alleghany.
East will look to get back on track when it hosts Oak Hill in two weeks.
