
Beckley – A poor third quarter plagued Princeton Monday afternoon as the Tigers fell to Winfield 70-60 in the Little General Battle for the Armory at the Beckley-Raleigh County Convention Center.
Trailing by just seven points at halftime, the Tigers were outscored 30-15 out of the break and trailed by nearly 20 points for much fourth quarter.
A late charge form the Tigers trimmed the deficit but didn’t change the outcome.
Jayce Gum was the only Tiger to finish in double figures, scoring 26 points on 8 of 16 shooting while Chance Barker tallied eight points.
Owen Taylor led the Generals with 27 points, netting six 3-pointers.
Winfield will play Charleston Catholic Tuesday while Princeton will face Oak Hill.
