Coal City – A massive fourth quarter powered James Monroe Tuesday night as the Mavericks outscored Independence 31-14 in the final frae, erasing a 56-51 deficit and toppling he Patriots 82-70 in Coal City.
Kadyn Hines spearheaded the effort with 27 points while Bryer Surface scored 14, nine in the fourth quarter.
Ashton Arthur led Indy again with 27 points while Brock Green netted 12 with 10 rebounds.

Hinton – Somers County saw its season come to an end Tuesday night in Hinton, falling 67-45 to Mingo Central in the Class AA Region 3 play-in game.
Damien Fullen paced the Bobcats with 19 points while Robey Brown netted 13.
Devin Maynard led Mingo with 21 points in the win.
