Summersville – Nicholas County’s bats remained hot Thursday as the Grizzlies scored seven runs in the opening inning of an 11-7 victory over Oak Hill Thursday in Summersville.
Ira Mylott led the charge with three hits and two RBI, doubling and tripling in the victory. Coleton Hellems and Caleb Burns notched two hits each as well.
Owen Grose led the Red Devils with a 3-for-3 showing at the plate in the loss.
Shady Spring 13, Independence 8
Coal City – Shady Spring secured a season sweep over rival Independence, rallying from a 5-0 deficit for a 13-8 win over the Patriots Thursday in Coal City.
Shady’s comeback charged was powered by a pair of four-run inning, coming in the sixth and seventh innings.
Jalon Bailey and Sam Barnett led the Tigers with three hits each while Noah Fox, Aiden Brown, Jacob Claypool and Spencer Morgan drove in two runs each.
Levi Barnett led Indy with three hits and two RBI while Cole Cunningham and Micah Cuthbert notched a pair of hits each.
Wyoming East 16, Midland Trail 1
Hico – Wyoming East took advantage of eight free passes and timely hits, securing a 16-1 win over Midland Trail Thursday in Hico.
Miken Smyth led the Warriors with three hits added four RBI while Jaeden Lester drove in a trio of runs. Jarred Phillips earned the win with six strikeouts in three innings of work.
Trail was limited to just two hits in the loss.
James Monroe 6, Greenbrier West 2
Charmco – James Monroe held Greenbrier Wets to just one hit Thursday, securing a 6-2 win over the Cavaliers in Charmco.
Peyton Gardinier picked up the win, pitching six innings.
Kadyn Hines and Cameron Crislip homered in the win while Brycen Parker, Gardinier and Levi Taylor notched two hits each.
