Castlewood, Va. – Eli Hilling was dominant on the mound for PikeView Saturday, striking out 16 batters in a complete game no-hit 10-0 win over Castlewood, Va.
The lone blemish on Hilling’s day was an error on defense, preventing a perfect game.
Landon Wyatt, Eli Naylor and Christian Walters secured two hits each for the Panthers with Walters driving in three runs.
James Monroe 10, Summers County 0
Hinton – Seven different players registered a hit for James Monroe as the Mavericks secured their first victory of the season in a 10-0 contest against Summers County Saturday in Hinton.
Kadyn Hines and Cameron Crislip collected two hits each in the win with Crislip driving in a pair of runs.
Peyton Gardinier picked up the win with eight strikeouts in four innings for the Mavericks.
Ripley 13, Independence 3
Ripley – Independence’s pitching staff struggled against Ripley to open the season, issuing nine walks and yielding nine hits in a 13-3 loss at Ripley Saturday.
Deegan Williams had the best night of any Patriot, notching two hits and driving in a run in the loss.
