
Liberty 12, Bluefield 4
Glen Daniel – For the second straight day Liberty erupted after allowing a rally, this time defeating Bluefield 12-4 Wednesday in Glen Daniel.
Jayden Acord and Isaac Davis led the Raiders with three hits each with Davis driving in four runs on the night. Isaac Williams and Brayden Keith drove in a pair of runs each as well for Liberty.
Rolon Jackson drove in a pair of runs to pace Bluefield.
Nicholas County 13, Wyoming East 7
Summersville – Nicholas County started fast and held off a Wyoming East rally attempt, toppling the Warriors 13-7 Wednesday in Summersville.
The Grizzlies jumped out to a 9-0 lead after two innings before East responded with seven across the third and fourth innings. A four-run sixth was enough to build a cushion for Nicholas.
Ira Mylott and Lucas Milam led the offensive charge with three hits each for Nicholas while Braden Brown and Caleb Burns notched two hits each.
Five different Warriors had two hits each for East while Braxton Morgan led the charge with three RBI.
Independence 12, James Monroe 2
Independence 19, James Monroe 9
Coal City – Independence’s bats were scorching Wednesday night as the Patriots swept James Monroe 12-2 and 19-9.
In the 12-2 victory Indy jumped out to a 9-0 lead, ending the game in five innings. Levi Barnett led the charge with a pair of hits and three RBI while Degan Williams homered and drove in two runs. Cole Cunningham also drove in a pair of runs.
In the 19-9 win the Patriots trailed 9-1 before scoring eight runs in the fourth inning and 10 in the fifth.
Barnett again drove in three runs while Williams and Cunningham homered. Micah Cuthbert led with three hits.
Kadyn Hines led James Monroe at the plate with five hits and a home run.
