Greenbrier East 14, Summers County 4
Hinton – Greenbrier East erupted for six runs in the fifth inning to close what was a tightly contested game with a 14-4 win over Summers County Monday in Hinton.
Brady May led the charge with six-RBI night and was one of four Spartans, including Nelson Lynch, Eli Green and Graham Brewster, to launch a home run in the win.
Colten Jones led Summers County with a home run and two RBI in the loss.
George Washington 3, Beckley 1
Charleston – Beckley couldn’t muster enough offense Monday night, dropping a 3-1 decision at George Washington.
Brady Williams, who pitched 5.1 innings and yielded just two earned runs, launched a solo home run in the second inning to give the Flying Eagles their only run of the night.
The game remained tied at 1-1 through the first five innings until the Patriots squeezed two more across in the sixth innings.
Tyler Wilhite had Beckley’s only other hit in the loss.
