Charleston – St. Albans got off to a roaring start, leading 28-6 after a quarter, never seeing its lead relinquished in a 70-48 victory over University Wednesday in the Class AAAA quarterfinals in the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center.
Jaycee Elzy dominated in the win, pouring in 27 points on 12-of-20 shooting.
Four other Red Dragons reached double figures including Samyah Riggan (11), Jaelyn Vance (11) and T. Russell-Austin (12).
Bri Fox led University with 13 points in the loss.
St. Albans will face No. Spring Valley on Friday at 11:15 a.m.
