Charleston – Despite committing 24 turnovers, Grafton held off a furious charge from East Fairmont to eliminate the Bees 57-49 Tuesday morning in the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center.
The win sends Grafton to the Class AAA semis where it will face the winner of Nitro-Lewis County on Friday.
East’s inability to capitalize on the 24 turnovers stemmed largely from its inability to hit shots. The Bees took over half their shots from downtown (27), hitting on just seven of them.
Grafton meanwhile hit at a 56 percent clip (22-of-39).
Kenna Keener led the Bearcats with 17 points and 13 rebounds while Hadley Horne netted 13.
Kasey Rogers led East Fairmont with 12 points in the loss.
