Huntington 72, Princeton 52
Beckley – Sixteen second half turnovers doomed Princeton Thursday as the Tigers fell 72-52 to Huntington in the New River CTC Invitational at the Beckley-Raleigh County Convention Center.
Leading by seven early in the second quarter, the Tigers saw their advantage evaporate, trailing by as many as nine points later in the frame before going into the intermission 33-26.
Huntington kept the pressure on in the third quarter, outscoring the Tigers 19-10. Princeton rallied late, cutting the deficit to 10 with under four minutes to play but 25 total turnovers doomed any hope of victory.
Ava Gallion, who scored her 1,000th career point, led the Highlanders with 29 points while Lala Sloan scored 19.
Natalie Rose led Princeton with 10 points in the loss.
