Coal City – A trio of second half turnovers including a late pick six doomed Class AA No. 4 Independence as it fell 38-27 to Doddridge County in the Class AA quarterfinals Friday night in Coal City.
The loss ends Independence’s season at 10-2 while Doddridge improves to 12-0 and will face the winner of Frankfort-Mingo Central in next week’s semifinal round.
