Coal City – Independence used a 13-hit effort Friday to topple Shady Spring 15-2 and advance to the sectional title game. Emma Lilly led the charge with three hits and three RBI while Acasia Cook drove in four runs.Emma Simpson added three RBI in the win while Paytin Brehm held Shady to three hits.
Jenna Joyce homered for the Tigers in the loss while Peyton Raban notched two hits.
