
Charleston – Clinging to a four-point lead at halftime, No. 1 Spring Mills pulled away in the fourth quarter, outscoring No. 8 Martinsburg 23-10 in the final frame for a 65-43 win over the Bulldogs Wednesday evening in the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center.
The win sends Spring Mills to the Class AAAA semifinals where it will face the winner of Beckley-Spring Valley on Friday at 11:15 a.m.
Opoku-Achempong led Spring Mills with 22 points while Caleb Thomas netted 16.
Zion Duah-Agyeman led Martinsburg with 14 points in the loss.
