
Charleston – Noah Lewis nailed a pair of free throws with 13 seconds left Friday, breaking a 47-47 tie and lifting No. 3 George Washington to a 49-47 victory over three-time defending state champion Morgantown Friday night a Class AAAA semifinal at the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center.
The win sends the Patriots to the Class AAAA championship game for the first time since 2021 where they’ll face No. 1 Spring Mills on Saturday at 5 p.m.
Lewis led all scorers with 18 points in the win while Gale Lamb netted 11.
Max Frey and Waylon Colistra netted 12 each for the Mohigans in the loss.
