Boys State Tournament: Bridgeport defenses smothers Fairmont Senior in Class AAA semis

Charleston – Bridgeport’s defense suffocated Fairmont Senior Friday afternoon, holding the Polar Bears to 22 percent shooting (10-for-44) from the field in a 46-30 victory over the Indians in the Class AAA semifinals at the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center. 

Bridgeport will face Nitro in the Class AAA state championship game on Saturday at 12:30 p.m.

Anderson McDougal led the Indians with 16 points on 6-of-11 shooting while Landon Sanders netted 11. Carter Zuliani finished with eight points and 15 rebounds.

Trea Cumberledge and Julz Butler netted 10 points each for the Polar Bears in the loss.
