Lindside – The Mavericks exploded off the bat against Westside, scoring all their runs in the first two innings of an 11-0 victory over the Renegades Tuesday in Lindside.
The win sends the Mavs to the Region 3 championship series where they’ll face Wyoming East in a best-of-3 series next week.
Kadyn Hines dominated for the Mavericks, fanning 14 and allowing just one hit while backing his own cause with a grand slam home run. Peyton Gardinier added an inside-the-park home run as well, driving in a trio of runs.
Kadien Vance had Westside’s lone hit, a double.
Wyoming East 7, Summers County 0
New Richmond – Jarred Phillips pitched another gem Tuesday, going the distance as Wyoming East earned its spot in the Class AA Region 3 championship series with a 7-0 win over Summers County in New Richmond.
Phillips held the Bobcats to just four hits in the win, fanning six batters.
Miken Smyth, Jaeden Lester and Gaige Cooper backed his cause with two hits each with Lester driving in two runs.
Jake Boone led Summers with two hits in the loss.
East will open the Region 3 championship series next week against James Monroe with a spot in the state tournament on the line.
