Smithers – Midland Trail secured its fifth consecutive Fayette County Championship Saturday, toppling Fayetteville 9-3 in Smithers.
Four different Patriots had multiple hits led by Lauren Harper who notched three with as many RBI to go with them. Anslee Maynor, Sadie Moore and Harper Moore had two hits each to complete the effort with Maynor and Nevaeh McGraw adding a home run each.
Charis Gerwig picked up the win in the circle, fanning six over six innings.
Olivia Trofy led Fayetteville in the loss with a pair of hits and an RBI while Riley Dial doubled.
