Lindside – James Monroe put Monday’s regional opener to bed late, toppling Midland Trail 10-0 in Lindside.
The win sends James Monroe to the next round where it will host Mingo Central on Tuesday.
Kadyn Hines and Baylee Ridgeway led the way with two hits each for the Mavericks while Tyson Meadows and Levi Taylor drove in two runs each.
Peyton Gardinier rolled on the mound allowing just two hits and striking out seven in a four-inning effort.
Wyoming East 17, Bluefield 0
New Richmond – Wyoming East wasted little time erupting Monday, scoring seven runs in the opening frame of a 17-0 win over Bluefield in the Regi0n 3 tournament Monday in New Richmond.
Zach Hunt and Miken Smyth led the charge for East at the plate with three huts and three RBI each while Gaige Cooper, Jarred Phillips and Talan Muscari drove in two runs each.
Smith picked up the win, going 3.1 innings and fanning six in the victory.
South Charleston 13, Beckley 1
Beckley – Beckley struggled all around Monday, dropping the regional opener 13-1 against South Charleston in Beckley.
The Black Eagles only had seven hits but capitalized on nine free passes and five Beckley errors, erupting for eight runs in the sixth inning.
Maddex Sims led Beckley with two hits while Tyler Wilhite drove in the only run of the game for the hosts.
Richwood 17, River View 15
Richwood – Richwood out-slugged River View Monday, holding the Raiders off for a 17-15 win in Richwood.
Parker Giles went 3-for-4 to lead the Lumberjacks, driving in a trio of runs while Jayden Hamon drove in three unsuccessful as well on two hits.
Grady Hall, Owen Wayne and Riley Crites drove in two runs each as well.
Mingo Central 8, Westside 6
Clear Fork – Mingo Central did the bulk of its damage in the fifth and sixth innings, combining for seven runs in those two frames to secure an 8-6 win over Westside in Clear Fork.
The win sends Mingo Central to James Monroe on Tuesday.
Hayden Miller led Westside with three RBI in the loss while Braxton Waldron reached base three times to pace the Renegades,
