Oak Hill 17, Shady Spring 14
Shady Spring – Oak Hill was on the winning end of a slugfest Friday, toppling Shady Spring 17-14 in Shady.
Big innings were the name of the game for the Red Devils who scored in every inning but the fifth and plated multiple runs in five of seven frames.
Owen Grose led that charge with three hits, driving in five runs while J.D. Mauritz homered, Devin Richardson added a trio of hits as well in the win.
Aiden Calvert and Cutter Boggs led Shady with three hits each while Calvert drove in a trio of runs, homering as well in the loss.
Nicholas County 6, Wyoming East 4
New Richmond – Nicholas County put together a late rally Friday, scoring three runs in the top of the seventh inning to secure a 6-4 win over Wyoming East in New Richmond.
Coleton Hellems paced the victorious Grizzlies with two hits, including a home run, and four RBI. Lucas Milam added a pair of hits as well.
Zach Hunt and Jaeden Lester had a pair of hits each for East in the loss. Hunt pitched six innings, fanning 10 in a no-decision.
Independence 12, Charleston Catholic 5
Charleston – Independence clubbed Charleston Catholic late, playing eight runs in the seventh inning of a 12-5 victory over the Irish in Charleston.
The top five in Indy’s lineup produced multi-hit games with Cole Cunningham driving in three runs and Levi Barnett collecting four hits.Justin Williams also drove in a trio of runs in the win.
Andrew Coalson was the pitcher of record for Indy, going one inning in a game where the Patriots threw six different pitchers.
