Mount View 8, Montcalm 6
Welch – Mount View held off Montcalm’s late rally to secure an 8-6 win and with it the Class A Region 3 Section 1 title Thursday night in Welch.
The Golden Knights notched just two hits but took advantage of nine errors to push across their runs. Phoebe Dudgeon drove in three of them while Krislyn York collected the other RBI.
Dudgeon led the way in the circle as well, fanning 12 in the victory.
Beckley 3, Oak Hill 2 (8 Innings)
Beckley – Alyssa Rinehart scored on a wild pitch in the bottom of the eighth inning Thursday, lifting Beckley to a 3-2 win over Oak Hill in an elimination game Thursday in Beckley.
Kacie Fraley led Beckley with six innings pitched, allowing just two runs, none earned. Rose Tucker backed her effort with two hits at the plate while Marley Stoneback drove in a pair of runs.
Mary Butcher had a hit and an RBI for Oak hill in the loss.
Greenbrier East 8, Princeton 3
Fairlea – Greenbrier East staved off elimination Thursday, rattling off five runs in the opening frame of an 8-3 victory over Princeton Thursday in Fairlea.
Reagan Cline led the charge for East with a pair of hits, droving in a. run as well. Maddie Baker had two bits as well while Campbell Bundy drove in a pair of runs.
Hayden Jones led Princeton with two RBI while Shy Richardson collected two hits.
East will host PikeView in an elimination game on Friday.
