St. Albans 11, Independence 6
Coal City – St. Albans exploded in the middle innings, securing an 11-6 win over Independence in Coal City Wednesday.
Luke Buckner drove in a trio of runs for St. Albans while Tyler DeLuca and Will Curry added three hits each.
Pacing Independence were Cole Cunningham with three hits and two RBI and Degan Williams with a home run. Levi Barnett had two hits as well.
Midland Trail 23, Richwood 11
Richwood – Midland Trail started fast and slugged its way through to a 23-11 win over Richwood at Richwood Wednesday.
Greg Cramer had a monster game with six RBI for Trail while Rayce Dickerosn drove in five.
Aiden Weis led all players with four hits in the win.
Riley Crites, Kaden Lane and Owen Wayne drove in two runs each for the Lumberjacks in the loss.
Shady Spring 20, Nicholas County 7
Summersville – Shady Spring erupted for 10 runs in the sixth inning, claiming a 20-7 win over Nicholas County Wednesday in Summersville.
Sam Barnett led the assault with four hits, three of them doubles, and four RBI out of the cleanup spot while Cutter Boggs and Aiden Calvert drove in a trio of runs each.
Coleton Hellems led Nicholas County with four RBI and a home run in the loss.
Tazewell, Va. 7, James Monroe 4
Bluefield – James Monroe faltered down the stretch, dropping a 7-4 decision to Tazewell, Va. in the Coppinger Tournament Wednesday at Bowen Field in Bluefield.
The Mavericks jumped out to a 4-0 lead but couldn’t make it stick, giving up three runs each in the fourth and sixth innings.
Peyton Gardinier led the Mavs with two hits while Kadyn Hines drove home three runs.
Liberty 8, Greenbrier West 4
Charmco – Liberty pounded out 11 hits to secure an 8-4 win over Greenbrier West Wednesday in Charmco.
Jadon Acord led the assault at the plate with three hits while Parker Hodges, Brayden Keith and Isaac Williams notched two each.
Landon McClung led West with two RBI in the loss.
