
Charleston – Trailing 16-13 at the half, No. 2 Tug Valley turned its offensive fortunes around, toppling No. 7 Webster County 55-37 Thursday afternoon in a Class A quarterfinal at the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center.
Tug advances to the Class A semis where it will face No. 6 Greenbrier West on Friday at 9:30 p.m.
After shooting just 12 percent (3-of-25) in the first half, the Panthers rallied in the final 16 minutes, shooting 48 percent (13-of-27) from the field.
Haven Deskins led the charge for Tug with 17 points while Kenzie Browning netted 16.
Webster, which turned the ball over 22 times, got 10 points each from Josie Mathes and Elizabeth Case in the loss.
