Westside 66, Midland Trail 48
Clear Fork – Westside bombarded its way past Midland Trail, toppling the Patriots 66-48 in a Class AA Region 3 co-final Wednesday night in Clear Fork.
The win sends the Renegades to the state tournament for the first time since 2018.
Kadien Vance poured in 24 points in his final home game, leading the Renegades while Bryson Blankenship netted 16. Austin Bishop added 14.
Payton Bailes and Thad Brown scored 14 points each in the loss.
Westside earned the No. 3 seed and will face No. 6 Doddridge County on Tuesday, March 18 at 9:30 a.m. in the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center.

New Richmond – Wyoming East made a halftime lead stick, downing Bluefield 52-40 in a Class AA region 3 co-final Wednesday evening in New Richmond.
The win snaps Bluefield’s state tournament streak and sends the Warriors back to Charleston for the first time since 2022.
Broc Johnson led the Warriors with 25 points in the win while Konnor Fox netted 14. Braxton Morgan finished with 14.
Jase Smith led Bluefield with 15 points in the loss.
East earned the No. 4 seed and will face No. 5 Logan on Wednesday, March 18 at 9 p.m. in the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center.

Beckley – Greater Beckley got off to a quick start, pulling ahead 19-5 after a quarter and never struggling afterwards in a 72-46 win over the Golden Knights Wednesday in Beckley.
The win sends the Crusaders to the state tournament for the first time since 2022 where they’ll face St. Joe Thursday, March 20 at 9 p.m.
Keegan Davidson led the charge with 19 points while Kash Hendrix added 15.
Tyshaun Norman led Mount View with seven points in the loss.

Montcalm – Montcalm pulled off a historic win Wednesday, beating Webster County 62-53 in a Class A region 3 co-final to earn a spot in the Class A state tournament.
The win marks Montcalm’s first state tournament berth since 1978 when the Generals fell in the title game.
Tristen Cline led Montcalm with 19 points while Tyler Hagerman netted 14. Donovan Reed finished with 13.
Spencer Baird and Isaiah Cutlip led Webster with 13 points each in the loss.
Montcalm earned the No. 8 seed and will face No. 1 Tug Valley, the reigning state champion, on Thursday, March 20 at 5:30 p.m. in the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center.
