Fairlea – Class AA No. 3 Bluefield picked up 110 yards on the ground and another 160 through the air, upending Class AAA No. 5 Greenbrier East 27-13 in Fairlea Friday night.
The victory moves the Beavers to 7-2 on the season with homefield advantage throughout the playoffs still a possibility for the Beavers.
Max Simpson led the air assault with 160 yards passing, connecting with Tylee Simon and Pax Calhoun on touchdown strikes. Jeremiah Jones had his second career 100 yards game, posting 102 and a score in the victory.
East QB Brody Hamric completed 11 of 24 passes for 146 yards and two touchdowns in the loss while AJ Godfrey rushed for 94 yards.
