Philipi – James Monroe finished 3-0 in bracket play Saturday collection the silver bracket championship at Philip Barbour High School.
The Mavericks went 1-1-1 in pool play, dropping a match against Cabell Midland before toppling Washington and splitting with Winfield.
Seeded first in their bracket, the Mavericks swept Frankfort and Wayne 2-0 before beating Winfield in three sets.
The day also marked a career milestone achievement for all-setter Ava Pitzer who collected her 1,000th career kill.
